For the first time, Iran is not only claiming self-sufficiency in arms production but is also forcefully promoting its weapons exports on the international market.
Hossein Mohebbi, spokesman for Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), held a long news conference on the country’s military capabilities.
He claimed there that Iran has not only become self-sufficient in producing advanced defence weapons but has also become one of the leading exporters of such weapons systems internationally.
Mohebbi claimed that Iran’s armed forces and the IRGC had shot down more than 260 US military aircraft, including F-16, F-35 and F-18 fighter jets.
Describing the country’s military strength, he said Iran now holds military technologies and capabilities that have never before been shown publicly in this way.
Mohebbi further claimed that Iran’s Aerospace Force had been able to neutralise US THAAD and Patriot missile defence systems.
He warned that if the United States comes back to start another war against Iran, it will pay a heavy price.
