Yemen’s Houthi group said it had attacked eight Saudi oil tankers since beginning what it described as a maritime blockade, a claim that was not independently verified.
A Houthi military spokesman said the latest attack targeted a Saudi tanker named Wafa with several ballistic missiles and claimed they hit the vessel accurately.
The spokesman said the attacks were part of enforcement of a blockade declared on July 22. He also claimed that 29 Saudi oil tankers in the Red Sea and Arabian Sea had been prevented from reaching their destinations and forced to turn back.
