PM Tareque Rahman vows a better Bangladesh through collective effort

Prime Minister Tareque Rahman has expressed his determination to build a beautiful and developed Bangladesh through everyone’s collective effort. He said the main aim of the people’s sacrifices at various times, including the July uprising, was to build a developed Bangladesh where the country’s people can live better lives.

The prime minister made the remarks on Saturday at a ceremony handing job appointment letters to members of families of those martyred and seriously injured in the July 2024 uprising, at the Prime Minister’s Office in Tejgaon. Deputy Press Secretary to the Prime Minister Hasan Shiplu said this.

The prime minister’s additional press secretary Atikur Rahman Rumon and Amra BNP Paribar member-secretary, agriculturist Mokshedul Momin Mithun, were present.

The prime minister said: “Some of you present here took part directly in the July movement, while others had loved ones who did. It is in exchange for your own or your loved ones’ sacrifices that the people of Bangladesh can today live in a free environment.”

Recalling the people’s sacrifices at various times from the 1971 Liberation War to the July 2024 movement, Prime Minister Tareque Rahman said the main aim and purpose of these sacrifices was to build a developed Bangladesh where people can live better lives.

The prime minister said: “Behind the sacrifices of all those we have lost, those who were physically injured or otherwise harmed, there was one aspiration — to make Bangladesh better.”

The prime minister also noted the various limitations of the state and government, saying the country must be moved forward in line with reality even within these limitations.

He said: “What we got is not the biggest thing; rather, what we could give the country is what matters. If we can move forward gradually with this goal in mind, it will be possible to build the Bangladesh we want in the days ahead.”

The prime minister said efforts would continue to properly value the sacrifices of those martyred and injured in the July movement. He expressed hope that a beautiful and developed Bangladesh can be built through everyone’s collective effort.
