TEHRAN — A new chapter is being written in the Persian Gulf and Strait of Hormuz since the United States-Israel war with Iran began on Feb. 28, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said.
Khamenei made the remarks in a written message published Thursday to mark Persian Gulf Day. The supreme leader said Tehran would “uproot the enemy of the shadows” and protect the Gulf region. New rules and arrangements in the Strait of Hormuz will bring “peace and progress” as well as “economic benefits” for all Gulf states, Khamenei’s statement said. The message did not elaborate further.
