At least 15 people have been killed and more than 50 injured in a blast near a mosque in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Among the injured are police personnel. Tahir Ali Shah, a doctor at District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital, told Geo News that 15 bodies and more than 50 injured people were brought to the hospital following the explosion.
According to police, the blast occurred during Friday prayers and left a crater outside the mosque. Additional police have since been deployed in the Police Lines area. Rescue workers said the outer part of the mosque was severely damaged and that a wall had also collapsed. Authorities have closed the Kohat-Hangu road to all vehicle traffic following the incident.
