Police in Dinajpur’s Nawabganj have recovered the body of a 13-year-old boy, Tasriful Islam Titumir, from the Karatoya river, a day after he went missing. The body was recovered around 3pm on Friday (September 18) from the river in the upazila’s Kachondoho area. Tasriful was the son of Abul Kashem of Kachondoho village in the same upazila.
According to family sources, Tasriful went missing around 3pm on Thursday, and relatives searched various places for him without success. On Friday afternoon, after hearing that a body had surfaced in the Karatoya river, relatives went to the scene and identified it as Tasriful’s.
Nawabganj police station’s officer-in-charge (OC), Abdul Quddus, said police went to the scene after receiving the report and recovered the teenager’s body from the Karatoya river, and that the necessary legal process over the incident is under way.
