A notification said Sylhet Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Md Sarwar Alam had been transferred and posted to the Public Administration Ministry as a deputy secretary. The order, issued in the public interest, would take effect immediately.
However, the reason for his recall, and who would be given charge as the new deputy commissioner of Sylhet, was not mentioned in the notification.
Sarwar Alam had joined as deputy commissioner and district magistrate of Sylhet on August 21 last year.
