All price indices rose on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) today (Thursday), the week’s final trading day. Share prices of most companies also rose.
According to DSE sources, a total of 428,342,460 shares and mutual fund units of 392 companies were traded today. Total turnover stood at Tk 14,284,683,831. Among the traded companies, 214 saw their share prices rise, 116 fell, and 62 remained unchanged.
By the close of trading, DSE’s main index, DSEX, rose 33.79 points from the previous trading day to stand at 5,804.6 points. The DSE-30 index rose 8.52 points to 2,177.76 points, and the Shariah-based DSES index rose 2.47 points to 1,189.11 points.
The 10 companies with the highest turnover in taka value were Eastern Housing, Malek Spinning, BSCC, Genex Infosys, Karnaphuli Insurance, Fareast Knitting, ITC, Meghna Insurance, Beximco and Sunlife Insurance.
The 10 companies with the biggest price gains were Desh General Insurance, Meghna Insurance, Eastern Cables, Sonali Paper, Global Insurance, CAPM IBBL Islamic Mutual Fund, Fareast Knitting, Republic Insurance, Far Chemical and National Tubes.
The 10 companies with the biggest price declines were FAS Finance, Intech Limited, BIFC, Singer BD, NCC Bank Mutual Fund-1, Generation Next, Safko Spinning, Prime Finance, ICB Employees Mutual Fund-1 and ML Dyeing.
