Police in Jessore’s Chowgacha recovered the body of a 60-year-old man, Golam Rasul, from Tanjila Agro cattle farm. The body was found around 10am on Friday (September 18) at the farm, owned by Shimul Hossain of Tanjila Auto Rice Mill, in the Koyarpara area on the Chowgacha-Jessore road.
The deceased, Golam Rasul, worked as a caretaker at the farm and stayed there overnight. He was the son of the late Tojibor Molla of Fulsara village in the upazila.
According to police and local sources, Golam Rasul came to work at the farm as usual on Thursday (September 17) but did not return home afterward. On Friday morning, his son, Al Amin Hossain, went to the farm to check on him and found him lying on the floor. Hearing his cries, others rushed to the scene.
His son, Al Amin Hossain, said: “Father came to the farm on Thursday despite feeling physically unwell. When he didn’t come home by Friday morning, I went to the farm to look for him, and found his lifeless body on the floor. I cried out, and others rushed over.” The farm’s owner, Shimul Hossain, and Chowgacha police station were then informed.
Chowgacha police station’s SI, Belal Hossain, prepared the inquest report and said the exact cause of death would only be known after a post-mortem. Chowgacha police station’s officer-in-charge (OC), Mamunur Rashid, said the body had been recovered and sent to Jessore Sadar Hospital, and that the actual cause of death would be known once the post-mortem report was received.
