Winds of change are blowing through Dhallywood. New technology and modern perspectives are being woven into filmmaking. Actress Apu Biswas believes this continuity is bringing positive change to the country’s film industry. In her view, maintaining the quality of cinema today requires nothing less than full dedication, skill and professionalism.
Speaking in a recent interview about her new film and her work experience, the actress praised the current landscape of the domestic film industry and the work of technical teams.
Apu Biswas said: “The technicians and crew members we have in Bangladesh are extremely talented. Otherwise, neither we nor the artists who came before or after us could have reached where we are today. But a lot changes with time. So it’s essential to build and update yourself to meet the demands of the times.”
Drawing attention to professionalism and meticulous planning in film work, the actress said: “The teams working today are far more professional. By professionalism, I mean this: whatever the job, there should be 100 percent dedication to it, with no compromises.”
She added: “In the past, limitations often forced compromises over locations and other matters. But today’s new teams don’t compromise when the story demands otherwise. That relentless focus is proof of just how professional they are. That is exactly the mindset needed most to bring our cinema up to international standards.”
In her words: “Working with a homegrown team always feels special. There’s a sincerity alongside the work itself. And as a professional artist, I’ve developed the judgment to assess what works and what doesn’t in a project. Speaking from that experience, I can genuinely say this new wave of change in our cinema is commendable.”
