Technical educational institutions have been asked to report on how they are carrying out the dengue mosquito control programme. Photos, a short report and other necessary information on the work must be sent to a designated email address.
The instruction came in a letter from the Directorate of Technical Education on Thursday, sent to all institutions under the directorate.
The letter directs institutions to send photos, a short report and other supporting evidence of their dengue mosquito control work every week to the directorate’s email address, ad2dte@techedu.gov.bd, for information and further action.
According to a letter from the Technical and Madrasa Education Division on implementing the “dengue mosquito control programme”, all government and private offices and institutions, as well as market committees, schools, colleges, madrasas and other educational institutions, religious institutions and voluntary and social organisations, are to carry out clean-ups every Saturday to control dengue mosquitoes. Involving scouts, the BNCC, students, elected representatives and local community leaders, they must identify possible Aedes breeding sites at their workplaces, homes, public gathering places and surrounding areas, remove standing water and ensure regular cleaning. Heads of offices are to carry out mosquito control in and around their offices every Saturday. Locally suitable activities such as rallies, loudspeaker announcements, publicity, meetings, seminars and discussions are to be organised to raise public awareness about preventing dengue, and photos, short reports and other supporting information on each Saturday’s clean-up and mosquito control work must be kept.
