DHAKA — Total remittances from July 1 to May 31 of the current fiscal year stood at $32,756.78 million, up 19.09 percent from the $27,506.86 million received in the same period of the previous fiscal year.
Expatriate Bangladeshis sent home about $3.5 billion in May 2026.
According to Bangladesh Bank data released Monday (June 1), total remittances during the month reached $3,425.03 million, up 15.34 percent from the $2,969.46 million received in the same period last year.
This sustained rise in remittance inflows is playing an important role in maintaining the stability of the country’s external sector, strengthening foreign exchange reserves and bolstering the overall resilience of the macroeconomy.
