A woman, Rokeya Khatun, 50, was killed in a head-on collision between a nosimon, a diesel-engine flatbed vehicle, and an easy-bike, a battery-run auto-rickshaw, in front of Manik Tower in Meherpur town.
The accident occurred around noon on Friday, August 21.
The victim, Rokeya Khatun, was the wife of Abu Mondol of the Notunpara area of Meherpur town.
According to eyewitnesses and local sources, the nosimon and the easy-bike collided head-on in front of Manik Tower. Rokeya Khatun, a passenger on the nosimon, was critically injured. Local residents rescued her and admitted her to Meherpur 250-Bed General Hospital, where she died while undergoing treatment.
Humayun, officer-in-charge of the police station, said: “Police inspected the accident site and are investigating. Legal action is under way over the incident.”
