A large youth rally has been held at the auditorium of the Baitun Noor building in Mahespur, on the initiative of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Mahespur municipal unit.
The rally was held at 7pm on September 21 at the Baitun Noor building auditorium in Mahespur. Md Motiar Rahman, member of parliament for the Jhenaidah-3 constituency, attended as chief guest. Md Ismail Hossain Palash, secretary of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Mahespur upazila unit, attended as special guest.
Speaking as chief guest, MP Motiar Rahman said young people will lead the Bangladesh of the future, and that they must therefore be built up with honesty and skill. The role young people can play in society is beyond imagining, he said. He called on the young people of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami to take on a more responsible role and to play a positive part in society.
In his address as special guest, upazila secretary Ismail Hossain Palash called on young people to come forward in an organised way. He urged them to take a firm stand in piety and fear of God and against the various ills of society, against injustice, oppression and corruption. People come to Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami in order to earn the pleasure of Allah, he said, so there can be no question of material gain here. Worship in one’s youth, he added, is the more pleasing to Allah.
Others who spoke at the rally included Md Shariful Islam, assistant secretary of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Mahespur upazila unit and assistant professor at Hasadah Kamil Madrasa; Golam Rahman, baitul mal secretary of the Mahespur upazila unit; and Rakibul Hasan Bacchu, president of the Mahespur upazila unit of Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir, along with many local leaders.
The rally was chaired by municipal ameer Md Noufel Hossain and conducted by Md Abul Kalam Azad, secretary of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Mahespur municipal unit and IT affairs secretary of Bangladesh Majlise Mufassirin. It was held before hundreds of young people who had come from the various wards of Mahespur municipality.
