Indian narcotics and smuggled goods have been seized in separate operations carried out in areas under various border outposts of the Mahespur Battalion (58 BGB). No one was detained in the operations, which were carried out on September 22 and September 21.
According to a press release, a routine anti-narcotics operation was carried out at about 1:35am on September 22, 2026, led by Havildar Md Shahar Ali, beside the paved road at Haldar Para in Singnagar village, about 400 yards inside Bangladesh from border pillar 72/4-S, in the area under Nimtala border outpost of the Mahespur Battalion. Forty-eight bottles of Indian cough syrup (Wincorex Cough Syrup) were seized, with no one detained.
Earlier, at about 4:50pm on September 21, 2026, an anti-smuggling operation led by Subedar Md Abdur Razzak recovered 10 packets of Indian pesticide, with no one detained, from Karim Malitha’s paddy field at Uttarpara in Goyeshpur village, about 300 yards inside Bangladesh from border pillar 68/7-S, in the area under Goyeshpur border outpost.
On the same day, at about 5:10pm, an operation led by Havildar Md Hasmat Ali recovered 48 packets of Indian pesticide, again with no one detained, beside the paved road in the Tentulia area, about 4km inside Bangladesh from border pillar 68-MP, in the area under Jibannagar border outpost.
