No trace of missing madrasa student after two weeks

There has still been no trace of madrasa student Amanul Islam Arif, 10, who went missing from Dhaka on August 8. A general diary (GD) has been filed at Narayanganj’s Fatullah police station over the matter.

The missing Arif is the son of the late Yunus Howlader, of Jilbunia village in Bagerhat’s Sharankhola upazila. He is a student in the hifz section of Rasulpur Darun Jannat Islamia Madrasa in Narayanganj’s Fatullah.

Arif’s mother, Arifa Begum, who works at a garment factory in Dhaka, said her son, Amanul Islam Arif, was a student in the hifz section of Rasulpur Darun Jannat Islamia Madrasa in Fatullah. On the morning of August 8, she sent Arif to the madrasa before leaving for the garment factory. Since then, there has been no trace of her son. The madrasa has said Arif never arrived that day.

Arif’s grandmother, Minara Begum, said that despite searching every possible place over the past roughly 15 days, there has been no sign of her grandson.

Over the matter, Arif’s mother, Arifa Begum, filed a GD at Narayanganj’s Fatullah police station on August 11.
