Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Md Masud Rana has given a wheelchair to the disabled older sister of a young girl in Raipura, Narsingdi, after the girl made the request, and provided new clothes for the girl and a companion.
Monday afternoon, a girl named Tuli Pal walked into the UNO’s office without a shirt on and asked for a wheelchair for her disabled older sister. In her innocence, she told the UNO: “Give my sister a car.”
The UNO later learned that Tuli’s mother has died and that her older sister cannot walk. Moved by the family’s hardship, he arranged a wheelchair for Tuli’s sister.
The UNO also noticed the condition of another child with Tuli, a boy named Krishna, and bought new clothes for both children.
Wearing her new clothes and carrying the wheelchair for her sister, Tuli broke into an affectionate smile on her way home. UNO office staff later took Tuli, Krishna, and the wheelchair home by rickshaw to their house in the Haripur area of Raipura municipality.
Tuli’s innocent smile touched everyone present. UNO Md Masud Rana’s humanitarian gesture in standing by an impoverished family has drawn praise from local residents.
