An important meeting was held at the Education Ministry over publication of transfer results for MPO-listed teachers working in private schools and colleges. No final decision was made on publishing the results. The meeting discussed teachers’ problems and edit-delete options in detail. Sources said several more meetings will be needed to resolve the issues.
The meeting was held Monday, Sept. 28, in the conference room of the Secondary and Higher Education Division of the Education Ministry. Education and Primary and Mass Education Minister Dr. A.N.M. Ehsanul Haque Milon, Secondary and Higher Education Division Secretary Abdul Khaleque, Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education Director General Prof. Dr. K.M.A.M. Sohel and relevant Teletalk officials attended.
Meeting sources said edit and delete issues were discussed in detail, and participants gave their opinions.
The inauguration of the transfer process was also discussed. Whether Prime Minister Tareque Rahman will inaugurate the transfer process is now awaiting a policy decision.
Sources also said officials are trying to resolve teachers’ problems based on reports published by Dainik Shiksha on different issues facing teachers.
A related meeting was also held Sunday. Sources from Sunday’s meeting said Teletalk briefed officials on the overall transfer process for teachers. Various problems were discussed, including complications in publishing results. Although transfer results for MPO-listed school and college teachers were expected this month, they will not be published now. The results may be published in the first week of October, sources said, though the overall matter will be known at the end.
