Bangladesh High Performance (HP) continued their dominant run in Australia’s Top End T20 tournament, beating Victoria by five wickets in Darwin on Sunday. Darwin is the same venue where Bangladesh won a historic Test victory over Australia, and HP have now won three straight matches at the ground in the Top End T20. They also sit atop the points table. Batting first, Victoria were bowled out for 131, and HP reached their target with 16 balls to spare.

HP had slipped to 37 for four before Shamim Hossain and captain Irfan Shukkur steadied the innings, adding 83 runs together for the fifth wicket to turn the match around. Irfan fell for 43 off 32 balls, but Shamim carried his side home, finishing unbeaten on 51 off 33 balls with two fours and three sixes. Opener Habibur Rahman Sohan was out for a duck in the first over, while Jishan Alam made 11 and Ariful Islam 15.

Earlier, Mohammad Rubel took four wickets for 15 runs and Rakibul Hasan took three for 28 to bowl Victoria out for 131. Captain Sam Harper top-scored with 49.

Bangladesh beat Nepal by nine wickets in their first match of the tournament, then beat Hobart Hurricanes Academy by three wickets in their second, a match in which a struggling Sabbir Rahman made 59 off 45 balls. He could not repeat that form against Victoria on Sunday, however, out for just five off 14 balls.
