Iran has claimed to have seized another US underwater drone. The claim was made in a statement published by Sepah News, the media outlet of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
In the statement, the navy said the autonomous underwater vehicle was seized in the Strait of Hormuz in a coordinated, complex operation using intelligence surveillance and electronic warfare capabilities.
The navy identified the vehicle as a “REMUS 600” and said it had been handed over to experts to recover its information and data.
In September, the IRGC seized another advanced US underwater drone in the Strait of Hormuz, when Iran’s navy captured a sophisticated, uncrewed smart submarine in an intelligence operation at the entrance to the strait.
