JAMALPUR — Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Madarganj municipal unit in Jamalpur district held a workers’ rally Friday to advance what organizers called the establishment of justice, humane values and a welfare-oriented society.

The rally took place Friday morning at the municipal Jamaat office.

Maulana Abdus Sattar, Jamaat’s Jamalpur district unit chief, attended as chief guest. Madarganj municipal Jamaat chief Atiqur Rahman Selim presided over the event, with secretary Shariful Islam serving as moderator.

“It is urgent today to restore justice and humane values in the country,” Sattar said in his address. “Jamaat activists must take a more responsible role in building a corruption-free and principled society.”

He also urged workers to unite, serve the public welfare and strengthen the organization’s activities.

District council member Mojibur Rahman Azadi and Madarganj upazila Jamaat chief Maulana Nurul Amin, speaking as special guests, said Jamaat-e-Islami has consistently worked to secure people’s rights and build a better society. They said activists would remain active on the streets to press for those rights.

Other speakers included Madarganj upazila Jamaat secretary Farhad Hossain, former chief Shahin Akhtar Khan Peter and council member Abdul Aziz Jamali. Activists from various wards of Madarganj municipality joined the rally.
