Bangladesh National Parliament Speaker Hafizuddin Ahmed (Bir Bikrom) held a bilateral meeting with Iran’s Parliament Speaker Bagher Ghalibaf in Tehran on Friday.
Speaker Hafizuddin Ahmed led a delegation to Tehran that included NCP chief coordinator Nasiruddin Patwari, to attend the funeral of the late Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
The funeral was scheduled for Saturday, with burial at Khamenei’s birthplace set for July 9. The Bangladeshi delegation was expected to return home after attending Saturday’s ceremonies.
Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was born on April 19, 1939, in Mashhad in northeastern Iran. He was killed in an Israeli strike on February 28 this year. He was 86 years old.
