Meta has announced a new subscription service, Meta One. Built specifically for content creators, ordinary users and businesses, the service offers a number of extra features across Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp and Meta AI. The company says the core apps and the ordinary services of Meta AI will remain free as before, but that the subscription brings special features, more scope to use AI, and improved creative tools.
Three versions
More than 50 features are now active under Meta One. The service will be enabled in future on the Edits app and on AI smart glasses. For ordinary users there are Instagram Plus, Facebook Plus and WhatsApp Plus.
What the subscription costs
Many people have wondered what it will cost. Instagram Plus costs 3.99 dollars a month and the Facebook Plus version 3.99 dollars. WhatsApp Plus costs 2.99 dollars. These plans include custom fonts, special themes, extra chat pins, custom app icons and various customisation services.
For users who rely on artificial intelligence there are core and premium versions.
The premium plan
This offers the creation of far more images and videos with Meta AI, and more scope to use restyling and voice effects on Instagram. The premium plan costs 19.99 dollars a month and brings extra AI facilities.
For creators and businesses there are the Essential, Advanced, Expert and Max plans. The Essential version costs 14.99 dollars. It includes a verified badge, a verified channel on the WhatsApp Business version, and the use of the Meta business agent. The Advanced plan starts at 49.99 dollars and offers a range of facilities such as scheduling posts in advance, links in organic posts and team access. These plans are designed for larger teams and business organisations, the company said.
