Police in Dewanganj, Jamalpur, have arrested a lawyer named Abdur Rashid, 50, in an explosives case.
He was arrested on Wednesday afternoon (September 30) at the CNG auto-rickshaw stand at Tetultala More in the municipality. He is the son of the late Yaruddin of Kachharipara village in the municipality.
Dewanganj Model police station officer-in-charge Md Anwar Hossain told Naya Diganta that Abdur Rashid is legal affairs secretary of the Dewanganj municipal unit of the Awami League, whose activities are banned. An explosives case had earlier been filed against him, and he was arrested in that case and sent to court.
