Robber wanted in 15 cases across four districts held in Moulvibazar

In a special police operation in Moulvibazar, Saddam Hossain Kajol, an accused in 15 robbery cases, has been arrested. Police arrested him at about 4:30am on Thursday (13 August) in an operation in the Athangiri Tila area of Sadar upazila. The charges have not been tested in court.

The arrested man, Saddam Hossain Kajol, is the son of Abdul Aziz of Athangiri village in Sadar upazila. According to police, Kajol faces a total of 15 robbery cases in various police stations in Sylhet, Habiganj and Sunamganj as well as Moulvibazar, and there were arrest warrants against him in four more court cases.

Police said a team led by Sadar police station sub-inspector Ripton Purkayastha raided the Athangiri Tila area on the basis of secret information. Kajol tried to flee on sensing the police presence but was finally arrested.

According to Moulvibazar Sadar police station, Kajol had long been carrying out robberies and various criminal activities in different districts, and had been in hiding for a long time because of the cases against him in four districts. After his arrest and the necessary legal formalities, he was sent to jail through the court this afternoon.
