In his remarks as chief guest, Mohammad Zahir Hossain said: “Bangla QR is a new addition to Bangladesh Bank’s digital payment system. It is an important initiative to make digital transactions in the country easier, safer and more universal. Through the expansion of technology-driven financial services, Islami Bank is working both to bring customers and marginalized communities under banking coverage and to create opportunities for expatriates to send remittances quickly, easily and securely.”
He added: “By expanding the use of Bangla QR, people in remote areas of the country and small business owners will also be able to easily take advantage of digital transactions. This will further broaden financial inclusion and play an important role in building a modern, cashless and smart Bangladesh. Bangla QR should be seen not merely as a technology-driven service, but as one of the foundations for expanding financial inclusion, the digital economy and the economic participation of marginalized communities.”
In his remarks as chair, Md Altaf Hussain said: “Islami Bank is working consistently to expand technology-driven, customer-friendly banking services. Using the bank’s extensive network of branches, sub-branches and agent banking, an initiative has been taken to bring a larger number of merchants, including small and medium businesses and people in remote and marginalized communities, under Bangla QR.”
