SYLHET — Two motorcyclists were killed in a head-on collision with a microbus in Sylhet’s Fenchuganj upazila, police said.
The crash took place around 5:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 6, on the Sylhet-Moulvibazar road in the Ilashpur area of the upazila, said Fenchuganj police station officer-in-charge Monirujjaman Khan.
Both victims were riding the motorcycle, police said.
The dead were identified as Sufian Islam Nahid, 20, son of Masuk Mia of Mohammadpur village in South Surma upazila, and Ahmed Mohammad Sayem Ahmed, 14, son of Showkat Ali of Mohammadpur village.
Local and police sources said two young men were riding the motorcycle from Sylhet to Fenchuganj when an oncoming microbus struck them. Both riders died at the scene. Fenchuganj police later recovered the bodies and sent them to the Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
