MADARGANJ, Bangladesh — The Madarganj Expatriate Welfare Council, Jamalpur, a nonpolitical social and volunteer organization that works with disadvantaged communities, named Italy-based Mohammad Sabuj Ali its chief adviser, organizers said.
The announcement was made on Sunday, Feb. 1, at 4 p.m. at the council’s main office at Balijuri Bazaar. Members of the adviser committee and the executive committee based in Bangladesh attended in person, while the president, general secretary and other senior officials joined virtually from several countries.
The meeting began with a recitation from the Quran by Kawsar Ahmed, senior joint general secretary of the committee. Council president Riazul Islam Rubel chaired the session, which was moderated by general secretary Ebadul Islam Robin. Adviser members and committee members spoke at the event.
Jahangir Alam, senior vice president of the Madarganj Expatriate Welfare Council, announced the name of the chief adviser. By unanimous decision, Italy-based Mohammad Sabuj Ali was named chief adviser of the Madarganj Expatriate Welfare Council, Jamalpur.
