CHOUGACHHA, Bangladesh — Two teenagers were killed and two others injured in a three-way road crash in Jashore’s Chougachha upazila, police said.

The crash occurred at about 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 24, in the Jahangirpur area of the Chougachha-Kotchandpur road.

The dead were identified as Emon, 16, son of Intaj Ali of Kaliakundi village in Pashapole union of the upazila, and Ashraful, 16, son of Tarikul Islam of the same area. Both were ninth-grade students at Raniali Secondary School.

The injured were Mizanur Rahman, a BRAC Bank officer and resident of Keshabpur upazila, and trolley driver Rubel Hossain. Rahman was admitted to the Jashore 250-bed Hospital.

Local residents said Emon and Ashraful, friends, were riding a motorcycle toward Chougachha when their Apache RTR bike collided head-on with an oncoming Discover motorcycle. After losing control, their motorcycle struck the rear of a sand-laden trolley ahead. The two were killed on the spot.

The other motorcyclist, Rahman, and trolley driver Rubel were injured in the same crash.

Police from the Dashpakhia camp and Chougachha fire service personnel recovered the bodies after being notified, officials said.
