TEROKHADA, Khulna — All eight students from a college in Khulna’s Terokhada upazila failed this year’s Higher Secondary Certificate exams, even though the institution employs 13 teachers.
Adarsha Shiksha Niketan School and College was approved to admit students to the 11th grade in the 2023-24 academic year and enrolled 11 students that year. Eight of those students sat for the 2025 HSC exam, and all eight failed.
Located 10 km from the Terokhada town center, the college has good infrastructure but draws little interest from prospective students.
Uddhav Kumar Mohanta, the head teacher of Adarsha Shiksha Niketan School and College, said students’ irregular attendance and lack of interest led to the poor results.
