DHAKA — Content creator Ashraful Alam, popularly known as Hero Alom, has been arrested. He was taken into custody Saturday afternoon by Hatirjheel police in a case filed by his wife, Riya Moni.
Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Wahiduzzaman’s court issued an arrest warrant for Hero Alom on Wednesday, and police detained him on that basis Saturday.
Riya Moni filed the case at Hatirjheel police station in the capital on charges of attempted murder, assault and intimidation. Another man, Ahsan Habib Selim, was also named in the case, and the court has issued an arrest warrant against him as well.
Tejgaon Division Deputy Commissioner Ibne Mizan told Amar Desh that Hero Alom was arrested and sent to court because of the outstanding arrest warrant in the case filed by his wife.
