DHAKA — Bangladesh’s Non-Government Teachers’ Registration and Certification Authority (NTRCA) will reassign teachers who could not join their assigned schools in the sixth round of recruitment because of erroneous vacancy listings and technical issues, officials said.
Some candidates who were recommended for appointment could not take up their posts because of incorrect institutional demand and technical complications. A group of these candidates had demanded quick reassignment to other educational institutions, and NTRCA has now taken up the matter on the basis of their applications. They will be reassigned before the next special public notice.
Sources said more than 400 applications were submitted by candidates affected by wrong vacancy listings, of which 320 have been shortlisted for reassignment.
An NTRCA official said the agency was working on how to reassign the candidates who had been recommended against wrong vacancies.
The candidates have said they were recommended in the sixth recruitment notice but could not join schools because of incorrect institutional demand, problems with staffing patterns, recommendations to non-MPO posts, or subject mismatches. As a result, they had been suffering mentally, socially and financially for a long time, they said.
In a memorandum to the NTRCA chairman, the candidates said the recommended posts either had no vacancies or would become vacant only in the 2026-2027 academic year. Some were recommended to institutions where they could not join because of pattern problems, others to non-MPO posts, and some had been moved from general to technical streams against their qualifications.
The candidates also asked that all those recommended against wrong vacancies be reassigned by the last week of November, that political conditions be considered, that vacancies at the new institutions be properly verified before reassignment, and that they be reassigned within their home upazilas or districts.
