TEHRAN — Iran’s judiciary chief said Israel’s ultimate goal is to destroy the al-Aqsa Mosque and change the identity of holy Jerusalem, condemning a renewed Israeli raid on the site.

Hojjatoleslam Mohseni Ejei said in his message that Israel’s final aim was to destroy the holy structure and change the identity of holy Jerusalem.

He said it was a religious duty for all Muslims to take a stand against this aggression.

The judiciary chief outlined various aspects of Israel’s criminal conduct in a message on social media.

Condemning the desecration of the Baitul Muqaddas Mosque, he said Israeli settlers had again entered the al-Aqsa Mosque compound with the direct and full support of the racist military and desecrated the holy site.

Explaining the motive behind these hostile actions, the judiciary chief said: “These Israeli measures are not just an ordinary attack. They are a planned effort to destroy the al-Aqsa Mosque gradually, which is no longer hidden from anyone.”

Mohseni Ejei concluded his message by calling cooperation in realizing the Palestinian cause a duty for all. “It is the duty of all Muslims in the world to stand against this planned conspiracy and, through resistance, free the first qibla of Muslims from the hands of aggressors,” he said.
