Four more people have died of measles symptoms across the country in the past 24 hours, though no confirmed measles death was recorded over the period. With this, 619 people have died of measles symptoms and 93 of confirmed measles since 15 March, for a total death toll of 712.
The figures were given in the Directorate General of Health Services’ regular measles report on Sunday. The report covered the period from 8am Saturday to 8am Sunday.
According to the report, a further 941 people developed measles symptoms across the country in the latest 24 hours. The number of patients showing measles symptoms since 15 March stands at 99,207.
According to the Directorate General of Health Services, 116 confirmed measles patients were identified in the past 24 hours. Since 15 March, measles has been confirmed in 11,710 people, and 82,844 have been hospitalised with measles symptoms, of whom 79,152 have recovered and left hospital.
Of the four people who died of measles symptoms in the latest 24 hours, two were in Dhaka division and one each in Sylhet and Mymensingh divisions, the Directorate General of Health Services said.
