Four more people have died of measles symptoms across the country in the past 24 hours, though no confirmed measles death was recorded over the period. With this, 623 people have died of measles symptoms and 93 of confirmed measles since 15 March, for a total death toll of 716.
The figures were given in the Directorate General of Health Services’ regular measles report on Monday.
According to the report, 1,004 people developed measles symptoms in the latest 24 hours (from 8am Sunday to 8am Monday). The number of patients showing measles symptoms since 15 March stands at 100,211.
According to the Directorate General of Health Services, 141 confirmed measles patients were identified in the past 24 hours. Since 15 March, measles has been confirmed in 11,851 people, and 83,806 have been hospitalised with measles symptoms, of whom 80,193 have recovered and left hospital.
Of the four people who died of measles symptoms in the latest 24 hours, two were in Dhaka division and one each in Sylhet and Mymensingh divisions, the Directorate General of Health Services said.
