The fire service has recovered the body of an unidentified elderly woman beside a railway line in Sirajdikhan, Munshiganj.
The body was recovered at around 9:30am on Thursday (October 1) in the Nimtala area of the upazila.
Muhammad Shafiqul Islam, deputy assistant director of Munshiganj Fire Service and Civil Defence, told Naya Diganta that a rescue unit from Sirajdikhan fire station recovered the body beside the railway line after being informed in the morning. She is initially thought to have been hit while crossing the tracks carelessly, and appeared to be about 75, he said.
The body was handed over to the Government Railway Police (GRP) for legal procedures, the fire service official said.
