The law minister said the government does not want to do any individual an injustice. But the truth of the allegations is being verified, he said. If the investigation finds evidence for the allegations, legal action will be taken.
On the election of a new president, the minister said the next steps will be conducted in accordance with the provisions of the constitution. The government will follow the constitutional process on this, he said.
Saying that steps have been taken to send cases relating to the July uprising to speedy-trial tribunals for quick disposal, the law minister said the tendency to file false cases has fallen considerably compared with before.
Addressing the new lawyers, Md Asaduzzaman said there is no easy path to success in the legal profession. One must go forward with regular study, the acquisition of skills, professional honesty and a mindset of establishing justice.
