Tree-planting programme held in Lalmonirhat

The 18th founding anniversary of the Agomoni Samaj Unnayan Sangstha has been marked with a colourful programme in Lalmonirhat.

A doa mahfil, a discussion meeting and a tree-planting programme were held on the Mahendranagar land office field in the sadar upazila on Tuesday (June 23) afternoon.

The programme, presided over by the executive director of the Agomoni Samaj Unnayan Sangstha, Md Milon Khan, was attended by the chief guest, the administrator of the Zila Parishad, A K M Mominul Haque; and special guests including the district BNP organising secretary and municipal BNP president, Md Afzal Hossen, and the district BNP organising secretary, Shahedul Islam Saju Patwari, along with members of the organisation, local dignitaries and a large number of men and women.

At the end of the programme, the guests distributed more than 200 saplings of various species of fruit, forest and medicinal trees to help preserve the environmental balance.
