Another person has died after a truck suffered a tyre blowout and crushed an easy bike in Patgram Upazila of Lalmonirhat, raising the death toll to four. At least six other people were injured.
The crash occurred at about 8 am Monday in the Ghuntibazar area on the Burimari Land Port highway, Patgram Police Station Officer-in-Charge Saiful Islam said.
The dead were Fatul Islam, 35, and Mostakim Hossain, 18, of Guriatari in Burimari Union, and Nur Amin, 30, of Islampur.
Anwar Hossain, 16, died while being taken to Rangpur Medical College Hospital. He was a grade 10 student at Burimari Amanatullah Prodhan High School.
The injured were Jafar Uddin, 60, and Badsha Mia, 55, of Ghuntibazar; shopkeeper Mission Islam, 20, and Saiful Islam, 32, of Ufaramara; Ainul Haque, 65, of Islampur; and Dipu Islam, 30, of Burimari.
They were admitted to Patgram Upazila Health Complex, Rangpur Medical College Hospital and local medical centers.
