Cabinet committee approves direct urea imports from Russia

The cabinet committee on economic affairs has approved a proposal to import urea fertiliser directly from Russia. The proposal to import urea under the direct purchase method (DPM) was approved at the committee’s meeting on Thursday (October 1).

The industries ministry presented the proposal. Under it, urea will be imported directly from Delta Star Trading FZ-LLC of the United Arab Emirates, with the fertiliser produced by Russia’s JSC Shchekinoazot. The move aims to ensure urea supplies for the country’s agriculture sector.
