The Khulna Battalion (21 BGB) has seized 617 bottles of banned Indian Eskaf syrup in an operation in a border area.

The operation was carried out at 5:40am on Thursday (13 August) in the border area under the responsibility of the Putkhali border outpost.

A BGB source said the operation was conducted in the border area on the basis of secret information, as part of regular anti-smuggling activity. The Indian Eskaf syrup was found lying unclaimed and was seized.

The BGB said intelligence surveillance and patrols had been stepped up to protect the border and prevent smuggling, and that the syrup had been seized as part of that effort.

The commander of the Khulna Battalion (21 BGB), Lieutenant Colonel Md Nafiz Imtiaz Ahsan, said the BGB was taking a firm stand against drugs and other smuggling in the border area, and that such operations would continue as part of a zero-tolerance policy on drugs alongside protecting the border.
