A child of a year and a half named Saeed Hossain has drowned in a pond beside his home in Baraigram, Natore.
The incident happened on Thursday afternoon (October 1) in Kushmail village of Joanail union. Saeed was the son of Shakil Hossain of the village.
Former Joanail union parishad chairman Rashedul Islam Russell said the boy’s mother had left him playing in the yard while she did housework. A little later she could not find him and began searching, then saw him floating in the pond beside the house. Relatives rushed him to the upazila health complex, where the doctor on duty declared him dead.
