Prime Minister Tareque Rahman greeted citizens of Bangladesh and Muslims worldwide on the occasion of Eid ul-Adha.
In a message marking the holy festival, the prime minister said: “Eid ul-Adha returns once again to the doorstep of the global Muslim community, reminding everyone of the supreme example of sacrifice, the noble guidance of taqwa and the unique message of self-purification. On this auspicious occasion, I extend Eid Mubarak to the people of Bangladesh and all Muslims of the world, and Eid greetings to the wider world.”
The prime minister said Bangladesh and Muslims everywhere stand ready to celebrate Eid ul-Adha, energized by the spirit of sacrifice. The festival is not only a celebration but also carries an eternal message of deep faith in the Creator, devotion and sacrifice, he said. The unwavering faith of Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him), his unconditional obedience and supreme sacrifice for the sake of Allah have made this day deeply significant for the global Muslim community.
“On this holy Eid ul-Adha, I pray to Allah to accept our sacrifices. May He grant peace, security and stability to our motherland, the entire Muslim world and all of humanity,” the prime minister said.
Tareque Rahman also prayed for peace, harmony and security around the world.
“May this holy Eid ul-Adha shine with the glory of sacrifice. May Allah accept our sacrifices and worship. May our lives be filled with peace and prosperity through His infinite mercy and blessings,” he said.
