Portuguese football star Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez have married after a decade-long relationship. They married in a private ceremony in the Portuguese coastal city of Cascais on Tuesday.
Ronaldo’s representatives confirmed the news. His public-relations firm Brunswick Group told AFP that the couple’s five children attended the family ceremony.
The news became public through a social-media post by Ronaldo. On Tuesday night Bangladesh time, he posted a photograph of his hand over Georgina’s, with rings visible on both ring fingers and the letters “C” and “G” in the caption.
Georgina announced their engagement on August 11, 2025. Portuguese media had speculated about possible venues including Sintra, outside Lisbon, and Ronaldo’s birthplace Madeira. Cascais, about 30 kilometres west of Lisbon, was ultimately chosen; the couple also owns a villa there.
Ronaldo and Georgina met in 2016 while she worked at a Gucci shop in Madrid. They were first seen publicly together at FIFA’s annual awards in January 2017, and Ronaldo confirmed their relationship on social media in May that year.
They became one of the world’s most discussed celebrity couples, with more than 750 million social-media followers combined and investments in fashion and hotels.
Ronaldo’s eldest son Cristiano Junior was born in 2010. Ronaldo has never disclosed his mother’s identity. He became the father of twins Eva Maria and Mateo through surrogacy in 2017. Their daughter Alana Martina was born to Georgina later that year. In 2022, one of their twins, son Angel, died shortly after birth; their daughter Bella remains with the family.
After years together and raising a family, Ronaldo and Georgina are now officially husband and wife.
