Police in Chunarughat, Habiganj, have recovered the bloodied body of a young man, Sujon Mia, 35.
Local residents spotted the body in a paddy field in Raki village, Ward 10’s Mirashi union, in the upazila, Wednesday morning, August 19, and alerted the police station.
Sujon was a resident of Kalamandal village in the upazila’s Ahmadabad union. He was the son-in-law of Rashid Mia of Raki village. Since his marriage, he had been living with his wife and one child in his in-laws’ area.
Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Saiful Islam said: “As soon as we received the news around 8:30 a.m., we recovered the victim’s body under the leadership of Sub-Inspector Giasuddin. Police’s initial assessment is that this was a murder.”
One person has been detained for questioning in connection with the incident.
