Radharaman Das, vice-president and spokesperson of ISKCON Kolkata, has been relieved of all responsibilities in the organisation. He has also been directed not to represent ISKCON before the media or in public.

In a message on social media, Radharaman Das said he was accepting the organisation’s decision with respect, and that he would make no further statements on behalf of ISKCON in future.

According to him, the reasons cited for the decision included his comments on allegations of persecution of the Hindu community in Bangladesh, his support for Chinmoy Krishna Das, his appearance on a television talk show, a legal notice he sent to Maneka Gandhi, a cyber complaint, and his public stance on Sanatan Dharma.

Indian media reports said that, according to several sources within the organisation, Radharaman Das’s public remarks surrounding Bangladesh’s Chinmoy Krishna Das were among the main reasons for the disciplinary action taken against him. ISKCON has not yet issued any detailed official statement on the matter.

In his farewell message, Radharaman Das thanked his followers and wished ISKCON continued success and prosperity.

Chinmoy Krishna Das, a former ISKCON leader, was the chief spokesperson of Bangladesh’s Sammilita Sanatan Jagaran Jote. In November 2024 he was arrested in a sedition case at Dhaka’s Shahjalal International Airport and later ordered jailed when produced before a court. The case is currently before the court. His arrest sparked widespread discussion and reaction across the country.
