Police recovered 100 abandoned sacks of chickpeas and mustard seeds from the roadside in Hili upazila, Dinajpur, on Thursday afternoon.
The sacks were found in the Satkuri area of the upazila. Hakimpur police station officer-in-charge Zakir Hosen said police received information that unidentified individuals had left large quantities of goods packed in sacks by the road in the Satkuri area. Officers went to the scene and recovered the sacks.
No owner was found at the scene. The goods were seized and taken to the police station. Police said they are investigating to identify the owner and will take further legal action if no one comes forward.
Many of the sacks were found torn and damaged, the officer-in-charge said.
