5 more die from measles symptoms, 1,031 new cases

Five people died from measles symptoms nationwide in the past 24 hours. During the same period, 1,031 new suspected and confirmed measles cases were recorded.

The information was disclosed in a press release Thursday, August 27, from the Directorate General of Health Services’ control room.

It said 956 patients were identified with measles symptoms in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of measles cases since March 15 to 153,692.

The number of confirmed measles cases in the past 24 hours was 75, with the total number of confirmed cases from March 15 to August 27 standing at 18,726.

From March 15 to August 27, a total of 134,437 people have been hospitalized with measles symptoms.

During the same period, 129,489 patients recovered and were discharged from hospitals.

Five people died from measles symptoms in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of children who have died from measles symptoms since March 15 to 856. No deaths from confirmed measles were recorded in the past 24 hours, and the total number of deaths from confirmed measles from March 15 to August 27 stands at 99.
