Maulana Abdul Hai, a distinguished native of Mahespur, Jhenaidah, former upazila chairman, member of Jamaat’s central shura, and the party’s Jhenaidah district assistant secretary, has continued to devote himself directly to various social and humanitarian activities in his retirement. From standing by the helpless to working to correct various social ills, he has continued offering valuable opinions, taking effective action, and standing by those in distress.
In keeping with that work, he stood by Md Sohag of Pipulbaria village, Ward 5, Saruppur union, on Tuesday, August 18, after both of Sohag’s kidneys failed. He provided financial assistance to Sohag’s family and inquired about various aspects of his treatment.
Sohag, of Pipulbaria village, had been ill for a long time. One of his kidneys failed first, and the other subsequently failed as well due to its effects. Sohag is currently in a life-threatening condition. Former upazila chairman Abdul Hai has set a humanitarian example by standing beside this helpless young man.
He said everyone should stand by society’s helpless and impoverished people, particularly those who fall ill while living in distress and find themselves at the threshold of life and death. He called on the wealthy members of society and the government to extend a helping hand to such people.
Also present during the humanitarian visit were local officials, along with Md Hamidur Rahman Rana, a leader of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement.
