A press conference was held in Hachla village, Kaliya upazila, Narail, over allegations of propaganda targeting five brothers from the same family. According to the allegations, Motaleb Hossain Molla of the same village has been spreading various forms of propaganda against the five brothers. In protest, the aggrieved parties organized a press conference around 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 18, at Shuktogram Bazar in Babra Hachla union.
In a written statement, Enayet Molla of Hachla village, one of the aggrieved parties, said Motaleb Hossain Molla has been spreading various forms of propaganda against them stemming from a land dispute, damaging their reputation. He said propaganda has even circulated claiming that Enayet Molla has been extorting money and exerting influence by invoking the name of Narail-1 MP Biswas Jahangir Alam. This, he said, is creating unrest and damaging their reputation in the area. He said multiple local attempts to resolve the land dispute have failed. He demanded an immediate end to Motaleb Hossain Molla’s propaganda and an impartial investigation into the land dispute.
Also present were Enayet Molla’s four brothers, Motaher Molla, Mokaddes Molla, Hemayet Molla, and Belayet Molla, along with Ward 9 member Marfud Khan, Azad Hussain, Mohsin Sheikh, Miraj Khan, and people from various professions.
